The Knox Family - North Vancouver - Vancouver Family Photographer
I met this sweet family at a recent wedding where they told me they really needed some family photos so a few weeks later we set up an early morning family session near their home in North Vancouver.
We decided to walk down to the beach where 4 year old Bowie, in true Labrador style, was super excited to chase sticks (enormous sticks!) and rocks into the water and give us a good shower every time he emerged :) I'd been hoping for some pretty morning light but we got this beautiful atmospheric mist instead. In typical Vancouver fashion we had a rain shower mid-session which was actually pretty amazing and we had the privilege of getting quite close to a blue heron before flying off. Such a great morning with these lovely people :)
Alistair and Kaija own two really amazing local restaurants on the North Shore, The Arms Reach Bistro in Deep Cove and In Grain Pastifico at Parkgate Village.

A visit to Maplewood Flats Conservation Area, North Vancouver - Vancouver Child Photographer
We took a morning a week or so ago to explore at the Maplewood Flats Conservation area, my lovely bird watching uncle got us on to this place when he came for a visit earlier this year and it is a fantastic peaceful spot to explore.. we found lots of crabs (LOTS) and saw a deer.. we managed to bust out some math with shells and sticks and physics with balancing rocks on some random beach wood! I was hoping to spot a Kingfisher or an Eagle, but maybe the boys are too noisy for that :D
I came across this quote recently and it really resounds with me in raising my boys...

Baby Bryce - Newborn/Family Session - Vancouver Newborn and Family Photographer
I visited this gorgeous family over in Vancouver a few weeks ago to shoot their Newborn session and capture their life with new baby Bryce. Those first weeks with a newborn are just so precious and insane and wondrous and impossible at the same time! Takes me right back to the days when my boys were new.
Mom Erin is totally amazing and check out the crib and letter B actually handmade by Dad Paul! Such a pleasure to spend the morning with these guys, I really love the moments/images we captured. These are some of my favorites. Congratulations again on your beautiful boy xo
